Dr. Chapman is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Fellowship training in Adult Reconstructive Foot & Ankle Surgery. Dr. Chapman is able to treat a wide range of orthopaedic problems including shoulders, hips, knees and foot & ankle injuries in adults and adolescents.
Dr. Chapman received his undergraduate degree at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and then earned his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City. He continued his training with a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma Research followed by his orthopaedic residency training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Chapman then went on to do the prestigious Foot & Ankle Fellowship with Roger A. Mann, M.D. in Oakland, California where he gained expertise in surgical and non-operative treatment of forefoot deformities, such as bunions and hammertoes, as well as foot and ankle trauma. He also concentrated on complex sports medicine injuries of the foot and ankle, ankle arthritis surgery, ankle arthroscopy, ankle replacement and problems related to the diabetic foot.
Dr. Chapman is currently Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases where he is involved in the training of orthopedic residents, and is able to provide cutting edge treatments to his patients. He is also affiliated with outpatient surgical centers in New Jersey and Manhattan where patients with less complicated procedures can choose to have surgery.
Dr. Chapman is the recipient of the Castle Connolly Top Doctor and New York Super Doctors awards. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
He is published in multiple orthopaedic journals on topics such as orthopaedic trauma, arthroscopy, pediatric orthopaedics, shoulder and elbow surgery, as well as the foot and ankle disorders. He has presented research at national and regional orthopaedic meetings and has given CME (Continuing Medical Education) lectures on a variety of orthopaedic topics.
