In conjunction with the experts at the NYU – Hospital for Joint Diseases, Dr. Chapman offers state of the art treatment for patients with all stages of ankle arthritis.
Arthritis is the loss of cartilage lining in the joint. The most common cause of ankle arthritis is a previous injury, such as a fracture or a bad sprain. Loss of cartilage usually occurs slowly over a period of years after injury. Other patients will develop ankle arthritis related to generalized arthritis problems such as rheumatoid arthritis or related to other diseases such as diabetes or hemophilia.
